Larry Schlesinger M.D.
Larry Schlesinger M.D. has been practicing plastic surgery in Hawaii for over 30 years. He is the Past President of the Northwest Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is a visiting Professor of Plastic Surgery, both at the University of Oklahoma and the Medical College of Virginia where he graduated first in his class and President of the Honors Fraternity. He served his country in the U.S. Army for 10 years as an enlisted man, a line officer, and as a physician. He is the only Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to have ever been on the cover of Runners World in the Boston Marathon. He was honored by the Hawaii Medical Association in the year 2000 as their Physician of the Year. In 1991, he started a clinic for the homeless on Maui. Along with Judge Rafetto, he set up the Drug Court on Maui in the mid 1990’s. He is presently the head of a non-profit supporting Judge Steven Alm (the judge who created Hope Probation). Dr. Schlesinger has given his time freely to operate on wounded Iraq veterans under the auspicious of Iraq Star, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping injured Iraq veterans.
Dr. Schlesinger’s philosophy is every patient is very important. He listens closely to everyone’s desires and counsels them honestly as to whether plastic surgery will be helpful to them. He believes in educating all his patients before they have surgery so there are no surprises.
The main thrust of his plastic surgery practice is directed towards breast augmentations and the post pregnancy mommy makeovers. For men, his main thrust is the correction of gynecomastia.
