Cohesive Gel Breast Implants in Santa Monica, CA
Santa Monica Cohesive Implant – Silicone gel already enjoys some popularity as a breast implant filler. Although silicone gel implants cannot be 
filled after insertion and so may require a larger incision than a comparable saline implant, its consistency gives it a more natural feel than saline. The concerns of the early ’90s, which centered around potential health risks supposedly linked to leaking silicone have effectively been put to rest, and the FDA bestowed their approval upon silicone implants in 2006. Now, the next generation of silicone gel implants are in clinical trials.
These “Gummy Bear” implants are already widely popular in Europe. They are more form stable than either saline implants or conventional silicone implants, so they lend themselves well to a more tapered shape. This better resembles a natural breast contour. The nature of the silicone also renders them relatively leak-free.
These natural-feeling and -looking implants are only available in the United States through surgeons participating in the clinical trials. Santa Monica plastic surgeon Dr. Steven Teitelbaum is one of these few surgeons, and “the only surgeon in the state of California who was asked to participate in the clinical trials of all three cohesive implant manufacturers.”
